Rain beats snow
Especially when we are currently 45 degrees warmer than St. Paul and 47 degrees warmer than LP right now. So I'm pretty happy about that, and I'll take the rain.
Read about my crazy life, and say "Wow, what a cool dude!"

It was a great time hanging out with Beth and my parents this past week. We did a lot of really neat and fun things. We toured the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, went to the top of the Washington Monument, toured the Capitol, and the Library of Congress, saw the Supreme Court of the United States, the West Wing of the White House, the Lincoln Memorial, the Jefferson Memorial, the Korean Memorial, the Vietnam Memorial, the National Museum of American History, Eastern Market, Union Station, and probably other places that I don't remember right now. It was good times.
It's been a decent one. Church at CHBC as normal. They had the College/Intern lunch today too. Spaghetti and Meat Balls, which were very scrumptious I must say. It was very nice to engage in some fellowship with fellow interns and some Q&A with the pastor there.
Today has been a great day of basically sitting around. It's a nice day to relax. I did go for a jog though. So I did something at least. But yeah, other than that not an exciting day.
The past few days have been going well. I've had a lot of late nights at work. However we finished the big project we were working on, and so things will get back to normal now. That'll be sort of nice. Because we put a lot of long hours in the past 2 weeks, Lauren told that she better not see me before 9 am on Monday, and that I should sleep in. So I shall do as I'm told. That'll be great. Lauren and I have had a lot of good times (not with the work, but the random stuff we discover doing the project). Such as: Mr. Strange, and our favorite Flippin, AR. How great is that?
It's been a busy few days.
I got an email back from the Registrar's Office saying I can do
that. That's pretty darn sweet! So now I can drop my Software
Engineering course, and pick up a History course. I think I'm going
to go for Modern America.
Of course there is American Public Policy that I wanted to take which
is the same time as Software Engineering that I could take too. Oh
the options, they are abundant. What shall I do? I don't really know.
Okay, I got it all figured out. It's going to be a fun semester, but
it will be busy, that's for sure! I think I might take my internship
without credit, so I can take another class that I want to. It'll be
fun!
Oh and to answer Brad's question I'm taking Perspectives On Christian
Marriage with Michelle Louis.
It's Veteran's Day, and I would urge everyone to thank the men and
women who have served and are serving to keep America free and safe.
Today is a nice day. I went into work today for a little bit.
Lauren told me not to come in until 11. So I slept in, went for a
jog, and headed to work. Turns out that she decided to postpone most
of what we were going to do today. So I was there for only a half
hour or so. That's fine with me. Yesterday I was there 14 hours,
and the day before that was 12. So it's been a long week, but it's
been good times. After the majority of people leave we put on some
music, and talk about a bunch of random things. It's a more relaxed
office setting, which is good times. It's the only way to stay sane
doing that type of work, and those hours.
I'm going to hit up a museum or two today. I'm going to go to the
Postal Museum today. Depending on how long that takes me, I would
like to go to Ford's Theatre and the museum across the street where
Lincoln died. So that should be pretty interesting. I'll try to
take pictures if I can.
Also I realized today something that made me very happy. I am
enrolled for 2 courses that carry cross credit in History. I have
also taken 3 other courses that carried cross credit in History.
Now, if I'm thinking correctly, that means I should have 15 History
credits. If that's the case I am only 3 credits away from a History
minor. That means I could take a History Minor instead of bogging
myself down with Software Engineering this spring, and trying to find
a place to take web programming from. The only hitch is that I don't
know for sure if I can get both History and Poli Sci credit for the
same class. I sent an email to the registrars office to find out if
that's possible or not. It would be great, and I would love it!
We'll see though. I'll keep you informed.
I'm off to enjoy this beautiful day and go check out some museums.
Have a great Friday!
I registered for classes tonight. That was good times. I got
everything I wanted. I didn't get the section I wanted for
Perspectives on Christian Marriage, but that's alright. Right now I
only have 1 class on M-W-F. That's alright. I'm going to Intern on
those Afternoons I think, or maybe just M-W. That'll be nice. Have
Friday afternoons free.
I have a fun story from today! It was cool. Here's the work
approved version:
Yup so that's all I can say about that. Work is going well though.
11 hour days the past few, which has been fun. Okay, maybe not fun,
but it's been alright. After a while we start to go crazy, and
Lauren and I have start laughing over the smallest things. It's fun.
1 month from today and it's all over. I'm a lil sad. I'm going to
miss it out here a little bit. Definitely going to miss the office.
It's a fun place to work. I really like it. 1 month from tomorrow
and I'm back in MN. Not really looking forward to the weather. It
was in the 70's here today. Very nice.
Anyway I'm gunna get some sleep. Have a good night. Good luck to
all those who are registering for classes!
That's right. I saw a bunch of stuff today. I hit all the Memorials
(Washington, Jefferson, FDR, Lincoln, Korean War, Vietnam War) and
the buildings (Capitol, Library of Congress, White House, Supreme
Court, Department of Ag, Department of Education, Department of the
Interior, Watergate), and saw some great fall colors around the
Jefferson Memorial. Of course I didn't do it in the normal tourist
fashion. I jogged it all. That was a long jog, but it was fun.
I must say that the FDR is probably my favorite. It looks really
cool. But the Jefferson and Lincoln are really sweet cool. It's a
toss up. I don't have a favorite building, but their are a lot of
nice ones. I'm going to miss the great buildings to see when I run
around here, when I get back to MN. It's going to be a lil strange.
I have a bad feeling that I'm going to be stuck running in the SRC.
Oh well.
I got up at 5:30 this morning so I could get to the Ellipse today and
get tickets for the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. I got there at
6:10 or so, and they were handing out tickets that ensure you get the
real ticket. They handed out 700 of the first tickets, and I got
number 501. My friend whom I was meeting there got there about 25
minutes later and got number 642. The first people in line got there
at 8pm last night. I'm not quite that into it, but it'll be great to
see. I'm looking forward to that. Afterwards my friend bought me
some coffee at Starbucks, and we headed to Eastern Market to get some
BlueBucks. They were scrumptious. Plus we had some great
conversations about a variety of things, and some interesting
political ones too.
So that was pretty much my day in reverse order. It was good times.
Hope everyone had an enjoyable Saturday.
I had a great post last night, but it never appeared. I think it might have even eaten another post or two. I'm not sure. Anyway, I'll try to recover some of the greatness from my post last night.
